Death of Manuel Plantier, Executive President of Entreposto Brasil

It was with great sadness and shock that we learned of the sudden death of Manuel Plantier, Executive President of Entreposto Brasil, on 25 February last.

Born on 30 September 1947 in Lisbon, he moved with his family to Mozambique still in his early teens, and soon after, due to his father's early death, he was forced to drop out of school and he started his professional carrier which rapidly was successful.

He came back to Portugal in 1976, due to the socio-political situation of that period, but he returned to Brazil later on where he was invited to work for Grupo Entreposto, which had been appointed as Scania concessionaire for the State of Maranhão.

Manuel Plantier sold the brand’s first truck in that area and his name shall always be linked to the development of activities which, under his encouragement, dedication, dynamism and business sense, were promoted over 40 years, along with new brands that led to its current dimension.

He was highly regarded and respected by everyone, in particular by his employees, by the brands represented and the corresponding Brand Associations, and he was currently vice-president for life of ABCN (Associação Nissan) and advisor of ABRARE (Associação Renault).

Having a large capacity to communicate as well as open-mindedness, Manuel Plantier leaves behind a huge legacy which will always remain as an inspiration.
