Grupo Entreposto is now celebrating 50 years of Auto retail in Portugal.

Established in December 11, 1967 (through a deed dated December 11 with registered office at Avª Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, 21, in Lisbon) with the designation Entreposto Comercial de Automóveis Entrauto S.A.R.L., renamed as Entreposto Comercial – Veículos e Máquinas, S.A.R.L. in 1980, the company has specialized in the imports, assembly, distribution and retailing of vehicles from the Japanese manufacturer Datsun/Nissan. Five decades later, it is the main business of Grupo Entreposto operation in Portugal.

"We are living in a swift and generalised worldwide process of change. In contradiction to longevity as human beings, almost everything tends to become more and more ephemeral; success, recognition, products and relationships are, among many others, examples of this reality. That is the way it is, whether we like it or not. In this context, 50 years are really a milestone!

In our particular case, 50 years of auto retail are the result of our passion for the business, generating the ability to adapt and evolve and also the establishment and maintenance of principles which enable to relate to each other, with Customers, Partners and Brands, in some cases for more than 50 years.

During this period, by addressing the different requests, we have been through major changes. Vehicles are totally different as well as their selling and maintenance processes. Today we operate mostly in multi-brand format, assuring what we believe is essential for the Customer: specialisation in the sales and service areas, provided with technicians and areas assigned to each Brand", says Nuno Matos, Director of Grupo Entreposto.

Having gained years of experience while selling vehicles in Mozambique, the activity has now got a portfolio of 14 represented brands - Audi, Chevrolet, Dacia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Seat, Subaru, Skoda and Volkswagen – and confirms Entreposto Auto, designation adopted by the Group in the auto retail business, as one of the main operators and references in the Portuguese market.

A distribution network covering the whole country is prepared for the great challenges the future will surely reveal and which is composed by 30 integrated facilities (sales and service), in the districts of Porto, Aveiro, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal and Faro and meeting the demanding standards of the brands represented.

"In the coming years we will certainly be witnessing even more expressive developments, necessarily leading to new business formats, whether in sales or assistance.

Future generations will tend to privilege usage instead of property, a change that will be supported and even induced by regulations and service offering. For this, there will be a contribution of the connected and autonomous vehicles, which are being developed by almost every brand.  These evidences will affect how we relate to cars without compromising, I am sure, their relevance and even the passion conquered among many people.

For us, as business operators, even after the launch of hundreds of new models, a new product invariably means new commercial and technical challenges as well as new emotions. That is the way things will work for many years to come. I hope it for the next 50 years ", Nuno Matos added.

This is the passion still moving the automotive business and which has helped build the past 50 years of retail business in Grupo Entreposto. Five decades built on stories of many employees who have made out of that passion, the story of their own lives. It is also for them that we are celebrating this important milestone in the history of Grupo Entreposto.

Along with a specific logo developed to celebrate this anniversary, in use since the beginning of November, a promotional campaign will be launched mainly in digital media, aimed at recognizing excellence, professionalism  and resilient attitude, the characteristics of Grupo Entreposto automobile retail, and also distinctive factors crucial to win in the future.

Congratulations! Let's make a toast to the coming 50 years!
